Pedro is an illustrator, author, and artist, currently living in São Paulo, Brazil. Although one of his focuses is as an author and illustrator of children’s books, Pedro Ribeiro’s life and artistic career defy easy categorization, encompassing illustration, advertising, artworks, writing, editorial work, magazines, book covers, educational illustrations, and much more.
Throughout his life, he has always adapted his style and medium to fit the project at hand, and in each process, he was constantly challenging his own ideas, skills, style, and artistic limits. His work is based on experimentation, both of concepts and materials, for example: pencils, paints, and pastels, but he also utilizes digital media as a combination in his creative process.
With several children’s books published, having the opportunity to contribute to children’s literature is his greatest goal and passion in his career. The maxim of the author, illustrator, and activist Tomi Ungerer – “Expect the unexpected” – is what Pedro aims to embody in his work, whether for children’s literature or any area of illustration he believes his work can intersect.
